God created all the world and declared, "This is good."  But He really outdid Himself when He created chocolate.  "Wow, Lord, You did good!"

Even just the word, chocolate, produces smiles.  I have lots of interesting facts about chocolate to share with you.  So get out some of the good stuff, let it melt slowly in your mouth and read on:

The scientific name of the cacao tree is Theobroma cacao.  Theobroma is Greek and means, "food of the gods."

Legend says that an ancient civilization in northen Mexico brought cacao seeds from the sacred land of the Sun.

Maya and Aztecs were the first to taste chocolate but drank it as a thick bitter drink.

Per capita, Americans eat an average of 11 pounds of chocolate each year, the equivalent of 100 chocolate bars per person!

Chocolate affects the neurotransmitters of our brains causing them to release serotonin and endorphins, which makes us feel good. It also increases the level of phenylethylalmine which induces feelings of pleasure, like we are falling in love.

Yes, there is caffeine in chocolate, but you would have to eat about a dozen Hershey Bars to get the amount of caffeine in one cup of coffee.

What is best selling bar confection?  Of course, my favorite - the Snickers Bar.

White chocolate is not considered real chocolate by some people.  It has cocoa butter, but does not have chocolate mass or liquor that "real" chocolate has.
